The 100 Club of Chicago extends its condolences to the family and friends of Illinois State Police Lieutenant Richard Kozik.
On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, Lieutenant Kozik suffered a medical emergency resulting in him being transferred to a hospital to undergo further medical treatment. Lieutenant Kozik later died at the hospital.
A personal friend and avid supporter of the 100 Club, Rich coordinated many events for the Club including Family Day and the First Responder Motorcycle Ride. Rich was also heavily involved in the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation and was a strong advocate for the creation of its memorial wall to honor fallen members of the Illinois State Police.
His dedication to the law enforcement family was unparalleled, and his leadership of the ISP Motor Unit was admired by many. Lieutenant Kozik will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Illinois State Police and the Kozik family.
