Our Condolences to the Family of Cook County Sheriff’s Investigator Cuauhtemoc Estrada

Dear Friends,

Last week CEO Joe Ahern met with the family of Cook County Sheriff’s Investigator Cuauhtemoc Estrada who died on December 20th at the age of 50.

Estrada was hosting a family party on the evening of the 20th when two armed men attempted to rob his daughter and her boyfriend in the adjacent parking lot. Estrada was fatally shot when he intervened.

Because Investigator Estrada identified himself and because he was performing an act of law enforcement typical to his office, his death was classified as a line of duty death in early January.

Investigator Estrada left behind four children and three grandchildren. Joe met with the family to offer both financial and moral support. Educational assistance will be offered to the children.

It is at times like these that the 100 Club pulls together to honor the fallen and their families and to ensure that there will be support for those who later lose their life in the line of duty. As always, thank you for making the 100 Club’s work possible,

Joe Ahern, Chief Executive Officer
James J. O’Connor, President
