The history behind the Valor Award

In 1980, the 100 Club board of directors established the Valor Award to be presented annually to those police officers, firefighters, and paramedics who, by their actions, performed above and beyond the call of duty and in the highest tradition of their respective departments.

Each year we look forward to an evening of celebrating first responders who have taken such honorable actions to protect their communities. While we are saddened to not be able to recognize these brave men and women with our members, we look forward to honoring their achievements and visiting each department to present their awards.

The Club has honored nine first responders from departments in Illinois, visiting FBI Chicago and the Illinois State Police to present awards.
